The Arctic is a vibrant mix of communities and cultures, languages and traditions; a place where people live, trade and visit. There are many types of resources available, some from the animals, birds and marine life and some from the rocks of the region such as oil and gas and significant deposits of iron ore, nickel copper, lead, zinc and uranium.

Resources from the edge
This section shows how traditionally resources from land and sea have been used by the Arctic peoples for hundreds of years. Although there are resources being brought into the Arctic the indigenous people are still using the rich variety of resources available on land and in the sea. There are also resources for use elsewhere in the world and climate change is affecting the commercial exploitation of these resources.
